Initial Research

As the DP on the project, my research consisted of finding inspiration and brainstorming on how I would go about achieving the Director's, Zach Boyleston, vision for the film. After meeting with Zach and discussing his desires and what he wants to achieve visually I had a much better idea of how I wanted to approach this project. I immediately went and watched Zach's film from last year, Brew Your Own, and gained a lot of inspiration from Eamon's Cinematography, but also saw some things I might want to do differently. I also screened the filmed Beer Wars (2009) which gave me a colorful look into the culture of brewing beer. I have never filmed beer before in my life, except for maybe with a cell phone camera in high school, but I look forward to being out of my comfort zone on this one. I also have great crew members in Zach and Nathalie so it looks to be an awesome experience and hopefully will make for an entertaining Documentary.
